New phone
While everyone else is talking about the new iPhone, I shall share with you the phone I want. I was never interested in iphone anyway.... ngahaha
My cellphone company sent me a letter of gratitude (I've used AU kddi for the 3rd year now) and they're letting me upgrade the model of my phone without service charge, and a waive of ¥17010 (Rm600) off the cost of the phone.
Solar phone by Sharp, its a sports phone so it is waterproof (that doesn't mean I can swim with it, but i can sweat all over it), 3inch display, 5mpx camera, pedometer and calorie count, earthquake warning mail, tv tuner, plenty of games inside.
None of these features are inside my current phone.
Yeah... solar phone is the keyword. I can save up on electric bill.
we'll see how... what is your opinion?

well i personally think that a solar power phone wasnt that efficient enough, but wasn't it a hybrid? neither solar nor charged from power supply? what happens if you have been hibernating at home where there is no energy power to charge up your phone for days? there is solar panel does it means that it is higher radiation? or cause more heat to the phone hence when you keep it in your pocket? i wasnt sure about all this but have a wise think about it?
Anyway new iphone3Gs will be released soon!!! Only if you are interested.

kaobin... it is somewhat hybrid and it comes with a charger of course.haha.. like what they said, its a sports phone and meant for people like golf players, or joggers, ... anyone who spends most of the time underneath the sun... like me sometimes.. i have to do research outdoors... sometimes when i run out of battery while outdoors i can just lay it out? haha... just a simple thought...
iphone belongs to another phone company called softbank. I'm using AU kddi .. so if i wanna switch phone companies, it costs a lot... but of course, not interested ... phones in japan isnt as simples as switching SIM cards... in fact, there are no SIM cards... everything is programmed into the phone...
Softbank DO have SIM cards but the card is locked. If you know how to unlock it, you can change to any phone (within the range of softbank, i think)
Lucky you, AU's giving you something...I had been a AU user for 4 years but got nothing...it was 2 years ago that I switched to Softbank^^

oh ya that is softbank... yeah like what you said, the slot isnt made for our sim cards unless the entire phone is hacked... well probably its because i am using student's plan... i think...

This solar model ... yes ... global roaming. Which means I can use in msia with extra call rates. but if I go home for a long holiday, i might as well get a maxis prepaid instead. but the thing is, most of the phones in jpn dont have slot for sim card... even if there is, you have to hack it.
the current phone i am using right now can't roam. actually can't do anything besides call and email and sms... ntg else...no tv, no GPS, no mp3, no internet, no slot for sim card, no global roaming, ... but its ok... you can only choose one phone model if you sign contract for student plan, and that phone is free anyway.... haha
