Kadai vs Miyadai

- a break from food -

I'm here again... in Kagoshima... for the 5th time.
* Kagoshima is a prefecture (state) south of Miyazaki. Travelling there by train/bus takes 2 hrs. Capital - Kagoshima city.

One highlight of the trip was a visit to Kagoshima University (Kadai).
The reason : I just wanna compare Miyazaki University (Miyadai) < where I'm studying .... with it.
Those in Aust or UK or any white man's land : Don't expect big glamorous gothic styled buildings cos ...

Japan only went through the education boom thingy in 1940s... ( i think ) somewhere there... so architecture that time is a bit ... UM-ish ...lol

The only gothic styled unis in Japan I know of would be Tokyo Uni, Kyoto Uni, Rikkyo Uni etc.
I've never really talked about the place where I'm studying since I've started this blog. So this is my chance.

Back to Kagoshima:

We took a tram, and got off at Kogakubu-mae ( engineering faculty - front? ) and we were welcomed by this.

Kadai's Engineering Faculty (civil engineering building)

As for Miyadai, you take a bus, get off and you'll see this.

And then the main boulevard of Kadai. This pic was too random.

It looks as though I'm constipating and laid those eggs.

And this is the main boulevard of Miyadai.

stolen from the website

This is the gym hall of Kadai, with a view of Mt. Sakurajima (an active volcano)

This is Kadai's uni farm.

there are calvins ducks, goats and some other animals on the other side, we didn't walk that far.
that volcano is simply stunning....

This is Miyadai's uni farm.

Kadai has 2 main cafeterias (wth) in one campus (btw there are 3 campuses).

this is the better looking one.

Miyadai only has one small one in each campus (btw, 2 campuses).

but expansion is working its way!

This was where I flung my interview on Feb 8 2007, at approx 0920 hrs.

Faculty of Science, Kadai.

This was where I passed my interview on Feb 14 2007 at approx 1140 hrs.

Faculty of Agriculture, Miyadai.

Ignore that rock. Those words are referring to the building on the left.

This following facility made me went, "yerrr!!" ... "omg!!" ... "wtf!!" ... "wth!!" ... "eeyerrrr why liddat!!", from entry all the way till exit.

Kadai's library.

yerr... 7 floors... with basements!

I'm just being jakun here cos Miyadai's library, sadly... only 2.5 stories...

And I'm looking forward to visit Yeungnam University. wtx that tall building's the library!!!

Kadai's library makes you feel like a cast of Star Trek. As you walk, motion sensors detect your movements and the lights will turn on automatically. In Miyadai, you can only find those lights in the toilets...

So that's just a simple tour of both universities.
the end.
