Back in Form 1 and Form 2, Cik Nurizah used to threaten us by saying;

"Nanti aku hantar korang ke padang, suruh KIRA rumput yang ada kat situ kaaang ~~ !"

And thats what we did for pratical at the univ farm today ... you can't imagine how tired and dirty I looked when I came home.

Only now i realized, how little I've talked about my lessons, or in this case, my practicals in univ.
I don't really take pictures during work, cos most of the work done requires observation and there's absolutely no time to let go of my mind. And also, I will look quite like a fool jakun taking pictures during class ...in fact, nobody here does it ... lol...

So here's one of it, just to give an idea on what I did today

We worked in groups of 3~5... this is one of my team mates... brown patches are cow dung

It was raining - Malaysian style -  the whole morning and my paper written with data was wetter than a sponge.
In this first experiment of the day (there were 4), we were required to calculate the height of the grass at 250 different spots on the meadow. Of course, we worked in teams so it was only 50 per group.

And after calculating, we released the hungry cows onto the meadow and let them graze ...

(no photos... here's why)

More calculating... we had to calculate how many grabs and bites a cow takes, and how many steps a cow makes before moving onto the next patch of grass, for 120 times.

The 3rd experiment was one of the worst...  but yet fun for few reasons, One of it being the fact that I don't even know if i stepped on wet soil, mud, or dung

See thoes brown stuffs sticking out from the ground?... those are what we were looking for. Its called a stump.

OMG ... so tiring !!! There were almost 750+ of those stuffs ... But again, we worked in a group so I'm still alive..
And btw, one group calculated all 750+ of them. Its not like, 750+ devided by 4 groups... nooooo...

And then we have to come back from the other end and count how many of those brown stuffs have grass around it. ... thats another 700+ .... *pengsan*

Then we took some grass samples and we calculated the surface area of 10gms of grass. There's a machine for it so I'm still alive. The machine looks a bit like a laminating machine and all we do is just slip one blade of grass through and the numbers appear.
Cool eh....

The last experiment was a simple one... just flow 2 litres of water through 4 soil samples with 4 different species of grass, to find out which one is the most effective for preventing erosion.

the end... I've got 4 reports to write from today till its deadline.
