The title means ''It sure is the south"

"Miyazaki has no autumn"  ... I guess everyone who said so was right... my lecturers, seniors..

... At this point, I agree 101%

Its officially autumn, according to the calendar...

Anyway, that is just one of my point ... read on...

Today, I would like to share some of my knowledge ...

When we imagine an autumn scenery, we imagine maple trees ... or even in Japan, Gingko trees also come to mind....

( that's my report ok! )

So far in Miyazaki, I have seen only ONE maple tree (don't even know if its maple) and ONE Ginkgo tree

So what kinda tree is common in this prefecture (state) ?

This is a Washington Palm tree. The same kinda tree you see in the desert area of Nevada and Arizona, USA.

Highly durable to heat and drought, requires a lot of sunshine.

(all 3 photos taken from inside the bus)
(btw, I had another field study today, that's why I'm in a bus)

They're everywhere! ... if you open my uni's website, you even see it ... Keep clicking 'refresh' until you see it...

They're everywhere... so much so ... there's Japonized version of Beverly Hills

and in fact, California and Miyazaki are similar in some ways;

1. The love for beach activities

2. Washington Palm trees

3. Both state governors are former TV celebrities

4. A choice for 'life after retirement'

5. A large population of Asians (duhh...)

SIgh... too bad Disneyland is in Tokyo...

That's all I wanna share for today ... I hope you have learnt something new.

Before we go .. lets look at that photo again.

the end
